About Us
Ōryōki is a traditional Zen Buddhist term for mindful eating practice, commonly done during silent retreats. This term also literally means “just enough”. Although most of our retreats are not silent, the meaning of this word embodies the intention behind our gatherings. We can very easily find ourselves in extremes during our daily lives, but when we come together in retreat we are experiencing what it is like to be in the stillness and peace of what is. These retreats will be in collaboration with folks dedicated to creating healing space for others - whether through food, music, bodywork, yoga, outdoor activities, or a deepening of cultural wisdom. And with immense gratitude for the lands we gather on.
